Biography
WHO IS KIDPROD?
Artur Bernardo Scuro, professionally known as kidprod, is a Canadian singer-songwriter and music producer based in his birthplace, Montreal, Canada. He's primarily involved in Pop, Hip-Hop & R&B music.
EARLY LIFE
His parents, who are both Brazilian, introduced him to the country's musical culture very early in life which only helped increase his understanding in music right from the start. His favorite Brazilian artists as a child were among others "Marisa Monte, Gilberto Gil, Raul Seixas, Alceu Valença and Lenine", who all record very different genres of music. At the age of 8, he discovered a program called "GarageBand" on his mother's iPad which he initially used to reproduce "pop hits" that played on the radio. It's around that time that Artur started to lose interest for Brazilian music in general. He preferred the synthesizers and synthetic hi-hats belonging to pop and hip-hop production. Up until he turned 10, all he was really doing was reproducing songs and occasionally freestyling with the program's built-in keyboard that he'd play directly on the screen until one day, his mom bought a piano which lead him to record his first song called "Every Cigarette Needs a Lighter" which he made over a weekend and later posted on a platform called "Soundcloud" Saturday night of that same weekend under the name "aIIIXArtur". About 1 month later, he had an EP ready which he decided to name "Every Cigarette Needs a Lighter" to honor his first song. About one week after that, his mom saw it and instantly decided to take it down without even thinking twice due to song titles like "Cash 'N Drugs" and lyrics talking about the negative effects of ketamine, even though Artur had never even viewed pictures of such substances. After that, he experimented with a series of programs such as "BandLab, Waveform and Ableton Live" He would mainly go back and forth between the free versions of BandLab and FL Studio until his 12th birthday, when his dad bought him a license for FL Studio. Thrilled, kidprod proceeded to make a 15 song album named "Survive" which he finished in about 3 months and proceeded to distribute but was stopped, this time by his dad. Although the lyrics were much better and less polluted with profanity, his dad still didn't like the subjects of most of his songs and found that his lyrics expressed too much depression. At that point, Artur was ready to give up, but still persevered and proceeded to produce and record "Do What I Want", which was approved by both his parents. That was officially his debut single.
CAREER
After the release of "Do What I Want", the artist took 2 months to himself and released his second single "Better" on April 19th, marking the start of his consistent release strategy. On May 10th, he releases "Go Away", which grows to be his best performing song to this day. He then proceeds to release "Obligations" which grows to be his second most performing song. He later releases his most recent single "Alone" on June 14th. After the release of "Cross The Road" on July 5th, He releases his debut album "Cool" on August 5th, grouping together all his previous songs.
FUN FACT
